Hi all, a quick update, I mentioned that the scan quality was not great so I went digging. My thanks to all, I will follow any further development, but a big WELL DONE. Small steps first then we tackle the hard stuff. The scan is not the best quality however it is acceptable. I can now do everything with wireless, full colour printing and scanning. To get the latest version for newer kernels, use the firmware git tree instead.Hi All, this Sane Backend works really great with my Compaq CQ61 Laptop with Mint 12 and the Kodak ESP 5250 (never should have bought it) AIO printer using wireless and a simple scan. This table contains only the first official firmware version released, which is only guaranteed to work with the kernel version specified in the table.

If you configure the kernel yourself, make sure firmware loading is enabled.

If the directory doesn't work, refer to your distribution documentation.

Copy the files into the distribution-specific firmware directory, /lib/firmware.

Each download provides firmware under its own license. Firmware usually ships with your distribution, or you can download it from the table below. The wireless device requires firmware to operate. We support use of the drivers only in the kernel version the driver was a part of. They're available through the regular channels, distributions, or the Linux* kernel archives. Linux drivers are part of the upstream Linux* kernel.
